Touro NYSCAS: Education as Diverse as NYC

Walk down the streets of New York City and you’ll hear every language spoken, smell food from everywhere on Earth, and see people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. But one thing that unites such widely diverse New Yorkers is a desire to learn and grow.

At New York School of Career and Applied Studies (NYSCAS), a division of Touro College, students are as diverse as the city its in. NYSCAS students hail from all five boroughs. They’re diverse in culture, age, ethnic origin, and academic preparation.

At NYSCAS, you’ll find students who are recent graduates, and those who are transfer students. Some are currently working, parents of young children, or returning to pursue higher education after taking an extended break from school. You’ll find NYC Department of Education paraprofessionals who want to take the next step in their careers. You’ll find those whose first language is not English.

And at NYSCAS, you’ll find a wide range of programs tailored to every kind of student.

NYSCAS enrolls more than 3,000 students in more than 45 accredited Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree programs, including Business Management and Administration (with concentrations in accounting, finance, management and marketing), Criminal Justice, Digital Multimedia Design, Education, Biology, Health Sciences (pre-med, pre-dental) Human Services, Information Technology, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Paralegal Studies, Pre-Law and Psychology.

At NYSCAS you’ll find rigorous academic training that prepares graduates for well-paying, real-world job opportunities — right where you live. NYSCAS has convenient locations throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, all within reach of a bus or subway. Experienced counselors and caring academic advisors are there to help you along your journey.

NYSCAS offers you the opportunity to pursue your academic dreams on your schedule. Night and weekend classes? Classes after your workday, or while your children are in school? You’ll find them all at Touro NYSCAS. And in addition to the traditional classroom setting, NYSCAS also offers distance learning classes via the web in a variety of academic disciplines.

For English language learners, the School’s ESL sequence is designed to develop the English skills needed for success in college — with modern language labs, audio-lingual libraries, and a Conversation Club that gives students a chance to apply what they’ve learned.

At NYSCAS, students are guided from application and admissions to graduation and beyond. The faculty boast robust professional networks in their fields, and dedicated career development personnel are available to help undergrads land meaningful internships and prepare graduates for job interviews with sought-after employers.

NYSCAS is also dedicated to helping students of all income levels reach their goals. Financial aid counselors can talk to you about the best ways to pay for your education, and can help determine your eligibility for federal aid, New York State aid, and generous internal Touro grants and scholarships. Depending on income, many students have their entire tuition covered by various sources of financial aid.
