Engineering Science

RCC offers a variety of tracks within Engineering Science: aerospace/mechanical, biomedical/chemistry, civil engineering, environmental engineering, industrial engineering and a general track. Get on the road to a high-paying career that is in increasing demand.

RCC’s engineering faculty includes scientists with years of teaching and research experience in Materials, Mechanical and Bio-engineering, as well as Nanotechnology, and RCC features state-of-the-art labs. Graduates are thoroughly prepared to transfer to a four-year college.

Environmental Science

Help create a sustainable future and put your interest in the environment to work. RCC’s Environmental Science program is for students who want to study the issues facing our planet and work toward developing better solutions.

Fieldwork projects constitute a large part of RCC’s Environmental Science program, giving you more hands-on experience. And RCC’s smaller class sizes mean more individual attention and more opportunities for mentoring and interaction with faculty.

Natural Sciences

Learn from RCC’s talented Science faculty, which includes several Chancellor’s Award winners and a member of the SUNY Distinguished Faculty. Students can opt to follow a Biology or Chemistry track, putting them on course to transfer and seek a wide variety of majors at a four-year institution.

You can also study science within RCC’s renowned Sam Draper Honors Program, which is nationally recognized for offering advanced academic pursuits and for preparing students to transfer successfully to Ivy League and other outstanding four-year colleges. The Honors Program also offers unique experiences such as a summer session at Cambridge University.

Mathematics

RCC math courses provide students with the foundation for more specialized and advanced areas of study and lead to a wide variety of career choices. The Mathematics faculty at RCC includes a SUNY Chancellor’s Award winner and a member of the Carnegie National Faculty. Honors courses are available to high-achieving students.

Computers & Technology

Get on track to a position in one of many exciting high-tech fields. RCC offers associate’s degrees in computer information systems, computer support services, cyber security, and graphic design and computer-assisted design. Graduates can continue their studies at a four-year college program or move directly into the workplace.

The Department of Homeland Security and National Security Agency designated RCC as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Two-Year Education. This prestigious designation acknowledges RCC’s strong Cyber Security curriculum, highly-qualified faculty and efforts to develop an online Center for Cyber Defense.

For those seeking a fast track to the workforce, RCC has certificate programs in computer assisted design, computer information systems and web development.

STEM-Related Fields

RCC’s Health offerings lead to careers in a variety of fields that are expected to see continued job growth. Pursue a degree in nursing, human performance studies, occupational therapy assistant or public health, or a fitness specialist certificate.

Great Value

Save up to $100,000 by attending RCC before transferring to a four-year school. Financial aid and scholarships are available. Tuition for NYS residents is only $2,373 per semester for full-time students (12–18 credits), or $199 per credit for part-time students.

Rich Campus Life

RCC students enjoy an active life outside the classroom. More than 50 clubs are offered, including several directly related to the field of science such as the Environmental Club, Organic Garden Club, Chemistry Club and the Biology Club. The RCC Hawks compete in several sports including volleyball, tennis, basketball, soccer, and baseball.
