For 100 years, Poznan University of Medical Sciences (PUMS) has been educating medical professionals, conducting research and providing the local community with quality health services. Located in the city of Poznan and rooted in Polish tradition, the University has developed a network of international science and business partnerships throughout the century. In 1993, PUMS was the first school in Poland to offer full-time studies in English.
Since then over 2,500 international alumni of PUMS have started their professional careers on all continents. Doctor of Medicine
The medicine program at PUMS is an offer for both undergraduate and graduate applicants leading to a professional degree of Doctor of Medicine, opening doors to medical licensing on all continents. PUMS realizes that contact with patients is a very important part of education. That is why the University makes it possible for you to have contact with patients in its clinics from the beginning of the 4th year of your studies.
From cell-level biological mechanisms to complex hands-on practice in hospital wards — the program is structured in a manner that gradually introduces you to the world of modern medicine. It will give you the complete practical skill set of a physician with in-depth knowledge of biochemical processes taking place in the human body, mechanisms of disease, and the functioning of drugs and therapies.
Doctor of Dental Surgery
The 5-year DDS Program is an undergraduate entry dental course that leads to a professional degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery, opening doors to dental licensing worldwide. It is a profession that combines scientific knowledge with manual skills. This is why, starting from year 3 of the studies, your classes will be held at PUMS Dental Clinic where you will take part in patient treatment together with the faculty. With a heavy focus on practical experience, the program is designed to gradually guide a high school graduate from the scientific groundwork to a qualified and competent clinician. Dentistry is an exceptional field of medicine which gives doctors a lot of freedom when it comes to professional practice.

Medical Simulation Center
PUMS is the leader in medical simulation education in the country with a 30,000 square foot building dedicated to simulation-based and standardized patient training. Its state-of-the-art equipment and experienced staff make this part of learning fun, challenging and invaluable.
Clinical Centers
PUMS owns a network of 5 clinical hospitals in the city of Poznan as a base for its clinical and research activity. With a total of 2,200 beds these institutions are open to the public, serving the local community. Students of all programs have their clinical rotations in active wards of all specialties, seeing patients every day.
