Students and their families are invited to attend two college fairs being held in Westchester County this fall. Both events are free of charge. The first event will be held at the Westchester County Center in White Plains on Tuesday, October 20 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. The second event will be held at Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown Heights on Wednesday, October 21 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.
These Fairs are not only for students to attend, but also their parents and friends. The Fairs give students and families an opportunity to speak directly with admissions officers and representatives from approximately two hundred colleges and universities they may otherwise not have the chance to visit personally.
These events are free to high school students, parents and anyone else interested in higher education. Students can meet one-on-one with admissions counselors at their tables to discuss entrance requirements, campus life, application deadlines and majors. Representatives will have brochures, catalogs and other literature to describe their institutions.
Whether a student is thinking about a community college vs. a four-year college, public vs. private, in-state vs. out-of-state, a career in the military, a gap year, or getting a job after high school, now is the time to start preparing for the future.
Read through this issue of College Fair Guide. There are many articles, charts, useful hints and items of information which will be helpful to you. The more prepared you are for these Fairs, the more you’ll get out of them.
