Rhode Island Regional College Fair

Representatives from nearly 200 two- and four-year colleges are participating in the 42nd Annual Rhode Island College Fair on Sunday, October 20 at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.

The College Fair, sponsored by the Rhode Island Association of Admission Officers (RIAAO), offers an opportunity for students and families to gather a multitude of information in one day. College admission advisors can answer questions related to their respective institutions and about the college application process. Students can collect a variety of resources to take home as reference material for the college search and application process.

The Fair is free to students, families, and anyone interested in higher education. College fairs provide the ideal venue to speak with admission counselors from a variety of schools who can assist you in making such personal decisions as confirming your interest in a college, ruling out schools that may not offer what you want, and introducing you to schools you may not have previously considered.

Review the list of participating colleges and make a list of the booths you’d like to visit. You might also want to print out some labels or cards with your personal information — name, address, e-mail address, year of graduation, and anticipated major. Give these to the reps at the college booths. This preparation will allow you more time to speak with the representatives and to visit all the colleges on your list.

We encourage you to read through this issue of College Fair Guide. There are many articles with useful hints and information that can help guide you through your college search. The more prepared you are for the College Fair, the more you’ll get out of it.
