Make the most of your college experience at SJC Brooklyn. Nestled in the historic and popular neighborhood of Clinton Hill, you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for: A value-centered academic environment and an active campus community surrounded by the culture, beauty and excitement of Manhattan. No wonder Washington Monthly ranks St. Joseph’s the #7 “Bang for the Buck” college in the Northeast.

Tradition Meets the Future: Yours

Founded in 1916, SJC Brooklyn remains dedicated to maintaining low costs while upholding a strict standard of excellence. Throughout 2016, the College celebrated its centennial with SJC students emphasizing the theme, “Tradition. Innovation. Excellence.”

While SJC’s award-winning education stays true to its values, the College continues to add new areas of study including journalism and new media studies, hospitality and tourism management, and nursing. These new programs join more than 45 others — all designed to prepare students for today’s business requirements and future career demands.

SJC’s programs are led by more than 400 industry-leading faculty members in an open, supportive atmosphere. They teach in small classes with an average student-to-faculty ratio of 9:1 so you’ll get to know your professor — and they’ll get to know you.

A Rich and Rewarding Student Life

Campus life outside of the classroom is rich and diverse. SJC Brooklyn facilitates internship opportunities that introduce you to the workforce and provide the hands-on, real-world experience you need to succeed. SJC students have interned in politicians’ offices, at Major League Baseball, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Viacom/MTV and at leading accounting firms, including Grant Thornton LLP.

You also have the opportunity to explore the world through SJC’s robust study-abroad program with excursion opportunities to destinations including England, Taiwan, Cuba, Iceland, Italy and Greece. Qualifying students have the opportunity to apply for generous study-abroad scholarships.

Students also participate in alternative spring break trips and service projects in areas affected by natural disasters. In the past, they’ve aided communities dealing with the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, built homes in Georgetown, South Carolina, and rebuilt homes destroyed by tornadoes in Joplin, Missouri, while changing lives forever.

Around campus, SJC Brooklyn offers a full slate of student clubs, campus organizations and 14 intercollegiate sports teams, providing you with every opportunity to enjoy the full college experience, one that’s also focused on preparing you for a life of integrity, intellectual values and social responsibility.
