Albright College empowers you to fuel your future
While honoring its nearly 200-year history of fueling student success through highly ranked academics, affordability and life-enhancing experiences, Albright College remains future-focused and excited to announce new technology majors, sports teams and campus enhancements.
Learning Built for Tomorrow’s Leaders
The workforce is changing, and so is Albright. Set to launch in Fall 2026 are three new undergraduate majors that reflect its commitment to providing students with cutting-edge educational opportunities. At the forefront of technology education, each one is designed to combine rigorous technical training, critical-thinking skills and ethical awareness to prepare students for high-demand careers in the digital economy.
Artificial Intelligence (AI): As automated systems change the landscape of society, we need graduates who understand them at a fundamental level. Albright’s Artificial Intelligence major goes beyond using AI tools, to help students understand the essential building blocks of computer science and data science that enable AI applications to be built. With a firm grounding in machine learning, computational theory, applications and ethics, students will be prepared for roles in one of the fastest-growing sectors of technology.
Computer Science: Previously a co-major, Albright’s expanded Computer Science major will provide students with comprehensive training in computational problem solving, software engineering, algorithms and AI. The curriculum emphasizes applied computer science, preparing students to be ready to build the world’s next great apps, games and AI applications. Modern best practices are infused in every class, including industry relevant programming languages and connections to the humanities through design and ethics.
Cybersecurity: As digital threats increase, Albright’s Cybersecurity major will train students to protect information systems and digital infrastructure. With a grounding in computer science, the program encompasses network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, digital forensics and security policy, with a focus on practical applications and industry-recognized certifications.
“These programs represent Albright’s strategic vision to prepare our students for the jobs of tomorrow.” said Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., President of Albright College. “By integrating these technology-focused majors into our curriculum, we’re not only responding to market demands but also fulfilling our mission to equip students with the skills to solve complex problems in a digital world.”
New Varsity Sports to Grow Campus Community
With 70+ organizations active on campus, Albright knows the college experience is more than the classroom. This is why – to spark the passions of student-athletes – Albright has new NCAA Division III varsity athletic teams to energize its Lions’ spirit of competition and community.
Men’s and Women’s Wrestling: With the rebirth of the men’s program, paused since 2006, and debut of women’s wrestling, both teams reflect Albright’s ongoing efforts to respond to student interests and passions. The men’s team is already competing, while the women’s team hits the mat in Fall 2026.
Women’s STUNT: An emerging NCAA female sport that takes cheerleading skills to a new level, STUNT will start in Spring 2026. A thrilling game of skill-based routines in categories like jumps and tumbling, pyramids and tosses, there is a lot of excitement about the College’s team.
Women’s Flag Football: Albright’s team in this rapidly growing sport begins in Spring 2027, allowing Albright athletes to join more than 60 other NCAA schools with women’s flag football teams. Interest will likely surge even more when the sport is featured in the 2028 Olympics.
“Albright is always focused on expanding our athletic offerings to respond to the growing demand for more opportunities to compete at a high level," said Rick Ferry, Albright Director of Athletics.
Enhancing a Vibrant Campus
Albright is moving forward in the physical sense as well, with new facilities and resources to energize students’ lives in its supportive, dynamic campus community.
Student Success Commons and Library: Slated to open in Fall 2026, this state-of-the-art facility will feature a learning commons, student success center, writing lab and event spaces. Its history and culture center will house collections from the Central Pennsylvania African American Museum and Lakin Holocaust Resource Center, among others.
Golf Performance Center: Open since March 2025, this indoor simulator facility is designed to elevate student-athlete skills year-round via a 10 by 17-foot premium impact screen, PGA putting greens, the latest golf simulation software and advanced Uneekor launch monitor technology.
Wrestling Garden Patio: A place to gather, relax and celebrate, this comfortable space was unveiled in October 2025 to commemorate the legacy of Albright wrestling and honor athletes, alumni and supporters of the sport.
