Imperial College London Offers Global Summer STEM Programme

Imperial’s Global Summer School is a two-week residential programme, specifically designed for 16–17-year-olds with a passion for science, technology, engineering and medicine. The programme runs in July and August, providing a unique learning experience for students across the world. A Global Top 10 University Consistently ranked amongst the world’s best universities, Imperial is internationally renowned for excellence in teaching and research*. Located in the heart of central London, it’s a one-of-a-kind university in the U.K., focussing exclusively on science, engineering, medicine and business. Global Summer School offers an opportunity to study at this world leading institution, alongside likeminded students and under the guidance of Imperial staff. Challenging Academic Programme During the two-week course, there will be over 50 hours of class time, providing students with the opportunity to take their knowledge to the next level in one of three subject areas: engineering, medicine and life sciences, or physics. In the first week, students will be immersed in their chosen subject stream, participating in a range of classroom-based lectures, laboratory sessions and practical workshops taught by leading Imperial academics. In week two, all students come together to take part in a team challenge. In mixed subject teams, they will share their specialist knowledge to design and build a practical solution to a real-word problem. The team challenge allows students to share expertise and develop some of the key skills needed at university. Exciting Social Programme Alongside the academic programme, there is also a schedule full of social activities which is a great way to make new friends and help students make the most of their time in London, getting a real taste for student life. Activities range from trips to the West End, sports sessions, day trips, and an end-of-programme party. Accommodation Students will stay in one of Imperial’s halls of residence at its main campus in South Kensington, which is home to some of the capital’s most notable landmarks including Hyde Park, the Natural History, Science and Victoria & Albert Museums, and the Royal Albert Hall.
