More than 100 career-oriented majors and concentrations... hands-on internships with top firms and organizations...opportunities to engage in meaningful student/faculty research and study abroad experiences...generous academic scholarships ranging up to full tuition annually...a 13:1 undergraduate student-faculty ratio...NCAA Division I and III sports…and a global perspective in all your studies. These are just some of the distinctive living and learning opportunities that await you at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). FDU offers you all the resources of a major university. But its two northern New Jersey campuses also emphasize personalized learning through small and intimate classes. Average class size is about 18 students and all classes — including first-year studies — are taught by faculty, not graduate assistants. FDU’s two northern New Jersey campuses feature distinct living and learning environments. The Florham Campus is located near historic Morristown on the former private estate of the Vanderbilt-Twombly family. The bustling Metropolitan Campus, located along the banks of the Hackensack River in the quaint towns of Teaneck and Hackensack, is less than 10 miles from New York City. In addition to these two U.S. locations, the University has campuses in Wroxton, England and Vancouver, Canada, which offer students study-abroad experiences. Students also can study abroad at FDU’s partner universities worldwide. Florham Campus • Madison, NJ FDU’s Florham Campus, 35 miles from New York City, is located on a 200-acre former country estate that features picturesque buildings, manicured lawns and lush thick woods. The Florham Campus is ideal for students seeking a residential learning environment where full-time undergraduates are at the heart of campus life. Eighty percent of all freshmen live on campus, creating a 24/7 living and learning community. More than 75 student clubs and organizations — including NCAA Division III sports and intramurals — enhance your classroom experience. A particular point of pride: Florham’s women’s basketball team won the 2014 D-III NCAA championship and has captured five consecutive MAC Freedom championships. Women’s lacrosse advanced to Round 2 of the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Other teams regularly rank among the best in their regional and national conferences. With 2,529 full-time undergraduates and 821 graduate students, the Florham Campus is small enough to offer personal attention and lively classroom discussion — but large enough to offer more than 40 degree programs. Here, you’ll find innovative academic programs that combine theory with practice, giving you a foundation for virtually any career. Metropolitan Campus • Teaneck, NJ Located just 6 miles from New York City, the Metropolitan Campus’ nearly 50 majors prepare students for careers in business, education, engineering, nursing, hotel and restaurant management, criminal justice, the liberal arts and sciences, and much more. With 3,465 full-time undergraduate and 2,785 graduate students, the Metropolitan Campus offers a dynamic campus life where commuters and resident students work and relax together, enjoying 80 student clubs and organizations, and an award-winning NCAA Division I sports program. In 2016, the FDU Knights men’s basketball team made its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance and in 2017, the team made it to the opening round of the NEC Conference. The Metropolitan Campus attracts students from throughout the United States and the world, offering small and personal classes that encourage lively discussion and interaction. Programs are designed to prepare you for a career, emphasizing practical, hands-on experience. You’ll also be encouraged to take advantage of all New York City has to offer, both in and out of the classroom.
