You are more than a number at Saint Leo University. The regionally accredited university, located north of Tampa on a beautiful, lakeside campus, is dedicated to making sure every student has the chance to grow in mind, body, and spirit. Rather than being research-focused, Saint Leo’s faculty members are devoted to teaching, and support students’ academic and career goals.
Class sizes are small so students get individualized attention. More than 50 majors are available, including popular programs in biomedical and health sciences, cybersecurity and computer science, sport business, accounting, business administration, elementary education, and psychology. Free tutoring services are available to help students earn the grades they want to attain.
Another big plus is Saint Leo’s focus on learning through doing — what is called experiential learning in classes — like running a mock presidential campaign to put your political science, psychology, and communications skills to work in exciting ways. And faculty and Career Services help students find the careers that most suit their dreams.
Along the way, you will find that you are in a campus culture that is kind and respectful. Students support one another, no matter what their interests. You will meet people from all kinds of backgrounds and places, from as near as Tampa and the Caribbean to more distant states, and from more than 50 nations. Saint Leo students form friendships with their peers in classes, residence halls, athletic teams (19 NCAA Division II sports), intramural activities, choirs and musical groups, theatre productions, clubs, honor societies, ROTC, and fraternities and sororities.
That is another part of Saint Leo’s beauty: The University is Catholic, and it’s for everyone. People of all faiths and no faith backgrounds are welcome as long as they are people of good character and intention. Those who want to pursue their Catholic faith will find abundant support from University Ministry. And all Saint Leo students have the chance to absorb and apply the core values that lead to an effective ethical framework: excellence, personal development, respect, integrity, community, and responsible stewardship.
A word about Saint Leo’s costs: Saint Leo is a private institution, but the vast majority of its students receive financial aid. A Saint Leo education can be more affordable than you may think. And it is an investment that will serve you well for life.
