The University of South Carolina (USC) Aiken, while a member of a state system, is a separately accredited and independently operated 4-year university offering bachelors and master’s degrees.

What Benefits Do Floridians Get?

USC Aiken offers a scholarship program for those who graduate from Florida high schools with a strong grade point average and test scores. For those who qualify, USC Aiken will offer a scholarship which includes a waiver of more than $10,500 per year in tuition! The scholarship allows U.S. citizens who are residents of Florida the opportunity to pay South Carolina in-state tuition rates. This great savings provides you with access to a highly ranked college education at a very affordable price.

Athletics and Student Life

USC Aiken is a highly competitive member of the NCAA Division II. The University offers 10 sports for men and women; many of those teams have recently played for national championships. Men’s basketball and women’s volleyball have both recently been in the Final Four, baseball has been ranked #1 in the country, and men’s golf is consistently ranked as a top ten team in the nation. USC Aiken athletes excel on the fields and courts as well as in the classroom. These athletes’ grade point average often exceeds that of the overall student body!

The University offers more than 100 clubs in which you can participate. These organizations run the gamut from academic to social to religious to artistic. Additionally, the University sponsors both club and intramural sports for those who are not quite at the NCAA level. You’ll find tons of opportunities at USC Aiken!

Living On Campus at USC Aiken

The University provides the newest housing on campus for freshmen! These apartment and suite style rooms will provide you with all the amenities you could want plus you will only ever have a maximum of one roommate. The University’s housing area also includes an amazing swimming pool, sand volleyball court, and numerous other opportunities to participate in a great community. As a freshman, you are guaranteed on-campus housing and, in fact, many students choose to live on campus for all four years!

Faculty at USC Aiken genuinely love teaching undergraduate students. The faculty hold the highest degrees in their fields and most have significant professional experience. Unlike many other universities, USC Aiken provides opportunities for undergraduate research experience in the University’s labs as well as the ability to obtain internships in your chosen field.

What’s New for You at Aiken?

In the last few years, the University has added degrees in engineering, clinical laboratory science, computer science, applied gaming, and cyber security. These, in combination with other majors, provide you with an opportunity to maximize your potential and find a successful career upon graduation.
