Students choose from more than 150 undergraduate programs, over 40 graduate programs, and 20 undergraduate and graduate certificates offered through the College of Business; College of Education; of Health, Engineering, and Science; College of Liberal Arts; and Graduate Studies.

Over the last several years, Slippery Rock University has developed a number of new academic programs from which students can choose. New undergraduate programs include civil engineering, mechanical engineering, pre-physician assistant studies, cybersecurity, integrated marketing, corporate security, homeland security, physical activity and fitness management, school wellness education, and acting. New graduate programs include physician assistant studies, data analytics, athletic training, TESOL, occupational therapy, criminal justice and security studies, school nurse certification, teaching online, special education, and public health.

During a student’s studies at Slippery Rock, the learning environment often includes student-faculty research opportunities, international travel, and high impact practices including hands-on experiences. Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities from conducting groundbreaking research in professional-grade labs or interning on the New York Stock Exchange to developing a professional courtroom presence in the pre-law program. In addition, 92 percent of faculty members hold a PhD or other terminal degree, and SRU enjoys 26 national accreditations for academic excellence.
