Dedicated Student Success Coaches
At GCC’s Student Success Center, each incoming student is assigned a dedicated success coach who proactively keeps their students on track to graduate on time, while helping secure any resources needed for additional support.
The Richard C. Call Arena, home to the NJCAA Champion Men’s Soccer Team and the national champion Men’s Lacrosse Team, provides a field house, fitness center, human performance lab, classrooms, coaches’ offices and a press box overlooking newly resurfaced turf field.
GCC boasts new state-of-the-art Solar Tech, Veterinary Technology and Criminal Justice labs equipped with the latest technology. Meanwhile, the Physical Therapist Assistant, Respiratory Care and Nursing programs all enjoy their own dedicated laboratories featuring industry standard equipment. This is also the standard for the Computer and Information Technology, Digital Arts and Theatre Arts programs.
Academics for All
Among the vast array of career options at GCC is the Business and Commerce division offering more than a dozen degrees or certificates. Whether you are a budding entrepreneur needing a business plan; want to delve into white collar crime with a degree in Economic Crime Investigation; aspire to work in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management; Accounting or Supply Chain Management; or pursue a career through GCC’s Fashion Business Program, GCC provides a clear pathway to these and many others dynamic vocations.
Similarly, GCC’s Information Technology division gives students six different programs to choose from including Computer Information Systems, Support and Operations, Systems and Network Technologies, Web Design, Help Desk Support, and Computer Repair. Anyone interested in pursuing a career in renewable energy in the form of solar electric grid systems should consider GCC’s newest program, Solar Electric Technician Certificate which can also be applied to an Individualized Studies Associate in Applied Science degree.
GCC also offers multiple pathways toward a career in law or criminal justice with seven different opportunities such as a concentration in Homeland Security/Emergency Management, Forensics, Corrections Counseling or Paralegal Studies.
Genesee Center for the Arts
With an acoustically-refined auditorium, the Roz Steiner Art Gallery, Mac and CADD labs with the latest industry-grade software, as well as studios for dance, music, drawing, painting and ceramics — anyone interested in the arts should choose GCC.
As a SUNY institution, GCC is part of the vibrant 64-campus network and Pathways Program where earning a bachelor’s or other degree is a streamlined and seamless experience. Associate in Science degrees in Teacher Education, Business, Fine Arts the Natural Sciences, Human Services, Criminal Justice, as well as Liberal Arts are among the many transfer options.
Choosing to live at College Village rounds out the GCC experience with the student residential community just a two-minute stroll from the Batavia campus. With different room choices, College Village residents appreciate having Wi-Fi, cable, laundry, utilities and parking all included in the room rate. Newly renovated residence halls provide the latest in communal living arrangements with single bedrooms surrounding the shared, centrally located and large kitchen and bathroom facilities.
With more than 20 student clubs, including the new esports club and the invitation to start a new club if you have a special interest, GCC offers a dynamic campus life outside the classroom. There are 11 intercollegiate athletic teams, the Forum Players Theatre Group, the New Courier newspaper, and endless special events and activities all year long.
